Description of Duties:

•In-depth knowledge of shipboard hydraulics, hydraulic controls trouble-shooting and systems maintenance. 

•A minimum of twelve (12) years of experience within the last 25 years operating, maintaining, trouble- shooting, and testing shipboard hydraulic systems. 

•Detailed knowledge of ship’s Steering, Anchor Windlass and Controllable Pitch Propeller Systems is required.

•Demonstrate a working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, visit processes and reporting methods for visits.

•Demonstrate regularly using accepted current instrumentation for diagnosing equipment.

•Demonstrate ability for interpreting wiring diagrams and control schematics.

•Must have recent and current experience with in two (2) years unless designated below.

•Ability to utilize computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for compiling information for reports and history files and transfer digital pictures from camera to computer and enhance as required and label them for report purposes.

•Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.

•Demonstrate an ability to interpret wiring diagrams, control schematics and plans and the ability as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to troubleshoot, analyze and provide distance support for listed equipment.

•Provide expiration date of current security clearance on resume.

•Specifically outline previous trouble shooting experience. Additionally, any formal instructor experience should be annotated in the resume. Attainment and inclusion of these special skills and or certifications should be included in the resume as they may be considered more advantageous to the government.

•Detailed experience with regard to ship’s Steering Systems, Anchor Windlass, Fin Stabilizer Systems and Bow Thrusters should be detailed in the resumes.

Special Requirements:

High School/GED

CPR Certification from a Nationally Accepted organization.

Ability to utilize computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for compiling information for reports and history files.

Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
