Description of Duties:

Required:
• Strong computer science background in data structure, algorithms, and OO programming
• 2-4 years related work experience
• Solid open-source/Linux familiarity/distribution experience
• Strong working knowledge of PHP
• Working knowledge and experience with software development best practices and standards
• Working knowledge and experience with software security best practices and applicable tools to prevent fraudulent and malicious attacks from exposure to vulnerabilities as SQL injection, XSS, etc.
• Familiarity with front-end development ecosystem (e.g. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)
• Familiarity with the LAMP environment
• Experience with version control software such as Git
• Experience with relational databases: Oracle, MySQL, DB2, MongoDB, etc.
• Knowledge of the MVC design pattern
• Continuous integration and automated testing
• Experience with jQuery
• Modern DevOPS concepts and tools.
Not required but a plus:
• Server-side Javascript, Node.js
• Access database programming VBA

Special Requirements:

Security+ CE desirable but not required

Description of Duties:

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support various tasks in information assurance
• DIACAP Certification and Accreditation (C&A)
• Risk Management Framework (RMF) assessment and authorization (A&A)
• Vulnerability scanning and analysis
• Risk assessment and risk mitigation
• Testing and validation of security controls
• Understanding of common ports and protocols
• Performing STIGs
• Preliminary Pen Testing

Experience:
• Experience conducting IA/CS security controls analysis, risk assessments, risk mitigation analysis and contingency plan  development
• Experience in IA, DIACAP C&A, and RMF Assessment and Authorization
• Must be able to obtain at a minimum a SECRET security clearance
• Knowledgeable in C&A/A&A requirements and processes
• Hands-on experience with Security Vulnerability Scanning Tools (ex: Nessus, Retina, ACAS)
• Knowledgeable in IA/CS policy development, review and/or implementation
• Knowledgeable in System analysis, design, integration, security test and evaluation.
• Rudimentary understanding of Application Ports, Protocols, and Services.
• LAMP servers
• Application development experience a plus
• STIGs

Cyber Shipboard Policy Developer (0046-001)

Description of Duties:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to
•Develop Navy wide policies for ships in acquisition or in service phases of life cycle.
•Work with personnel at NSWCPD to identify requirements, assess shipboard risks and mitigations, and external factors.
•Utilize other Navy guidance in policy definition, such as DoDI 8510.01 Risk Management Framework
•Evaluate Navy systems for compliance/cybersecurity issues.
•Work with engineers from the US Navy as well as different companies, to present, adapt, and refine policy guidance.
•15+ years of maritime system experience with control system cybersecurity, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, power generation, ship design, electric propulsion, and/or research and development.
•3+ years in Navy Policy development
•Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework/DIACAP
•Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
•Working knowledge of Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Naval Shipyard, Regional Maintenance centers and Type Commander's Organizations is preferred.
•Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills to include weekly status reports and post travel reporting.
•U. S. citizenship.
Desired Characteristics:
•Knowledge of shipboard system design and installation.
•Demonstrated problem-solving capability.
•Interest and aptitude for electrical, computer networks and mechanical systems.
•Must work well in a cross-functional team environment comprised of representatives from multiple organizations.
•Maritime Graduates preferred (but others considered).
•Ability to travel up to 20%.

Special Requirements:

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Marine, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
