Description of Duties:

Required:
• Strong computer science background in data structure, algorithms, and OO programming
• 2-4 years related work experience
• Solid open-source/Linux familiarity/distribution experience
• Strong working knowledge of PHP
• Working knowledge and experience with software development best practices and standards
• Working knowledge and experience with software security best practices and applicable tools to prevent fraudulent and malicious attacks from exposure to vulnerabilities as SQL injection, XSS, etc.
• Familiarity with front-end development ecosystem (e.g. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)
• Familiarity with the LAMP environment
• Experience with version control software such as Git
• Experience with relational databases: Oracle, MySQL, DB2, MongoDB, etc.
• Knowledge of the MVC design pattern
• Continuous integration and automated testing
• Experience with jQuery
• Modern DevOPS concepts and tools.
Not required but a plus:
• Server-side Javascript, Node.js
• Access database programming VBA

Offshore Patrol Cutter Project Manager (0052-002)

Description of Duties:

Phoenix Group is seeking a prior US Coast Guard/Navy Damage Controlman (E6-E9) to assist with the design of the damage control lockers and distributed stowage of damage control equipment on the new Offshore Patrol Cutter Class cutters. Candidates should have recent experience on board USCG major cutters or US Navy Surface Combatants, Damage Control School.  Experience at the program level with damage control doctrine and equipment is a plus.   

Candidate will also oversee the procurement, kitting, and onloading of damage control equipment onto the cutters prior to delivery to the US Coast Guard at Panama City, FL.  Short periods of travel to Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, and Panama City, FL are anticipated.  Candidate must be knowledgeable of damage control equipment, small purchase requirements, equipment PMS requirements, and inventory management.   

Most work will be conducted at Phoenix Group headquarters in Chesapeake, VA with some allowance for telecommuting possible. 

Special Requirements:

USCG Damage Controlman “A” school 

High School diploma or GED certificate 

Able to use MS Office software: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point
