Position Description:

Phoenix Group of Virginia seeks an experienced AIT/CCT Coordinator to support PEO Carriers and the Refueling Complex Overhaul program. This position fills the role of “Aircraft Carrier Alteration Coordinator, RCOH” for Supervisor of Ship – Newport News. The AIT Coordinator provides the deliverables listed below to SUPSHIPNN and files the necessary reports directly to the Government entity. The AIT Coordinator provides temporary service requests, serves as the AIT/CCT Conex Box Park Liaison, AIT/CCT lay down liaison, habitability administrative assistant, and the AIT/CCT compartment completion coordinator. They will liaise between all entities (AIT/CCT/NNS/NAVY) to provide the Government with a conduit of clear communication and coordinate events set forth by the PEO Carrier Program Management Team.

 

Position Summary

Phoenix Group of Virginia seeks an experienced AIT/CCT Coordinator to support PEO Carriers and the RCOH program. The role serves as the Aircraft Carrier Alteration Coordinator for SUPSHIPNN, providing required reports, managing temporary service requests, acting as liaison for Conex Box Park and laydowns, assisting habitability, coordinating compartment completion, and ensuring clear communication between all parties.

 

Key Responsibilities

Temporary Service Request Coordinator

·        Maintains a tracking log for all temporary service requests.

·        Processes all electronically submitted service order requests (SORs) to the NNS Work Integration Team.

·        Interfaces with government on-site representatives (OSRs), contractors and Production Controllers to train in requirements, mitigate issues with missing services, handles emergent/special requests and LOE preservation.

·        Proposes weekly rigging and staging priorities based on all requests and available support from HII-NNS.

AIT/CCT Conex Box Park Liaison

·        Plans for and oversees the construction of a storage and office park supporting contractors in completing their off-ship tasks and material storage.

·        Interfaces with residing contractors and Government representatives for maintenance and access to the facility.

AIT/CCT Lay Down and Hazmat Liaison

·        Assists contractors with on board lay down requests and temporary compartment acquisition from ship’s force.

·        Coordinates AIT/CCT hazmat lay down areas on and off the ship including placement of environmentally controlled hazmat containers.

Habitability Administrative Assistant

·        Maintains production tracking metrics and reports for the AIT/CCT deck covering and furniture installation.

·        Attends production meetings to facilitate and record status from contractors, government oversite, and ship’s force representatives.

·        Updates schedules in SFIMS.

·        Develops and maintains production graphs when required.

AIT/CCT Compartment Completion Coordinator

·        Manages the “sale” of all compartments once the AIT/CCT tasks have been completed.

·        Coordinates the integration of all work with government OSICs, contractors, ship’s force and HII-NNS for timely completion of work within each compartment.

·        Collects and maintains all production completion letters for AIT/CCT work provided by the government OSICs.

·        Maintains a tracking log for compartment status and remaining tasks impeding compartment turnover.

·        Facilitates the drafting, signatures and processing of all compartment completion letters.

·        Develops and maintains reports and graphs illustrating statuses and risk management.

·        Attends and facilitates the SHACMAC and 30/60/90 meetings.

Supports the RCOH Project as needed including tasks as requested by the Project Supervisor, Deputy, Work Integration Manager, APSs and PCs.

 

Required Qualifications

·        High School Diploma or equivalent

·        Minimum Experience with US Navy Carriers

·        Demonstrated expertise working on aircraft carriers or other large‑deck naval platforms

·        Proven ability to assess system condition and validate the feasibility of shipboard maintenance or removal actions

·        Must have ability to obtain and maintain U.S. SECRET clearance

·        Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship

 

Preferred Qualifications

·        Combat Systems equipment experience is strongly desired.

·        Experience with shipyard availabilities or inactivation work (INACT)

·        Experience with shipboard AIT/CCT installations.

 

Core Competencies

·        Experience with Microsoft Office Programs, with high proficiency in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, SharePoint, and MS Access.

·        Ability to liaise between the Government, Military, and Contractor Representatives, and Organizations.

·        Strong organizational skills.

Tools / Systems

Microsoft Office Suite (basic proficiency)

Navy maintenance and operational documentation (as applicable)

 

Work Environment

Onsite: Waterfront/Shipyard/SUPSHIP Newport News environments

Direct interaction with shipboard personnel, planners, and shipbuilder teams

 

Security Requirements

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance

U.S. citizenship required

Qualifications

Education
