Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, track, and manage material requirements derived from AWP inputs across Defueling, HM&E, TS/CS/ALRE, and Fire Safety.

  • Align material requirements to SWLINs, ensuring traceability between planning, procurement, and execution.

  • Coordinate with SUPSHIPNN, shipbuilder, and program stakeholders to validate material availability and delivery schedules.

  • Analyze material shortfalls, delays, and risks; develop mitigation recommendations to protect schedule and execution.

  • Track Government Furnished Material (GFM) and Contractor Furnished Material (CFM) status and integration into work packages.

  • Support review and validation of shipbuilder material plans and CDRL submittals.

  • Maintain material status reporting tied to cost, schedule, and execution progress.

  • Coordinate with Database Manager to ensure material data integrity and alignment with program reporting systems.

  • Support Cost Data Sheet (CDS) reviews and material-related contract inputs.

  • Participate in IPTs and planning meetings to ensure material readiness aligns with execution sequencing.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership to support Statement of Work requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 7–10+ years experience in shipyard, logistics, supply chain, or material management

  • Experience supporting Navy, NAVSEA, SUPSHIP, or similar shipbuilding/repair environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with aircraft carrier material systems and lifecycle support

  • Familiarity with:

  • SWLIN structure

  • AWP development

  • CDRLs and CDS processes

  • Prior military logistics or supply experience

  • Former US Navy CPO, LPO, or senior enlisted logistics background

Core Competencies

  • Material planning and lifecycle tracking

  • Supply chain coordination in industrial environments

  • Risk identification and mitigation (material availability)

  • Attention to detail and data accuracy

  • Cross-functional coordination with planners and program teams

Tools / Systems

  • Microsoft Excel (tracking, analysis)

  • Navy or shipyard material tracking systems (as applicable)

  • Program reporting tools (aligned with Database Manager systems)

Work Environment

  • Onsite: SUPSHIP Newport News / shipyard environment

  • High coordination with shipbuilder, Government, and planning teams

Security Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance

  • U.S. citizenship required

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Military Experience

Experience supporting Navy, NAVSEA, SUPSHIP, or similar shipbuilding/repair environments
