Job Description

Primary Functions

The Mid-Level Data Analyst supports Phoenix Group of Virginia’s Navy customer by retrieving, organizing, analyzing, and reporting data that supports aircraft carrier life-cycle maintenance, modernization, performance-to-plan tracking, driver tree metrics, readiness generation dashboards, and leadership decision products. The position supports dashboard maintenance, brief development, data request response, and recurring coordination under the direction of the Availability Planning Division Manager or designated customer lead.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in data management, data analysis, maintenance planning support, modernization support, operations research support, or related technical services.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

  • Experience supporting maintenance and modernization of Navy ships.

  • Ability to retrieve, organize, analyze, validate, and present data from government databases and other authoritative sources.

  • Ability to develop and maintain analytical products, performance reports, dashboards, and leadership briefs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting aircraft carrier maintenance and modernization planning.

  • Experience with performance-to-plan products, driver tree metrics, readiness generation dashboards, or other executive reporting products.

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Power Apps, SharePoint, Teams, Access, or comparable data and collaboration tools.

  • Experience coordinating data products with availability planning, maintenance planning, modernization, shipyard, or NAVSEA stakeholders.

General Experience

Five (5) or more years of professional experience collecting, managing, analyzing, validating, and reporting maintenance, modernization, performance, readiness, schedule, cost, or planning data for Navy ships, aircraft carriers, engineering programs, maintenance programs, or government technical services.

Specialized Experience

Experience supporting performance-to-plan analysis, driver tree metrics, readiness dashboards, availability planning briefs, data visualization, and leadership reporting related to Navy ship maintenance and modernization.

Functional Responsibility

  • Retrieve, organize, and analyze data to support life-cycle maintenance and modernization efforts from government databases and other authoritative sources.

  • Coordinate development and maintenance of products related to performance-to-plan, driver tree metrics, and readiness generation dashboards.

  • Prepare briefs for leadership related to performance-to-plan and driver tree efforts under the direction of the Availability Planning Division Manager or designated customer lead.

  • Review data for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and traceability before inclusion in dashboards or leadership products.

  • Identify trends, anomalies, reporting gaps, and data quality issues that may affect readiness, performance, or planning products.

  • Support recurring data refreshes, metric updates, dashboard maintenance, and leadership product review cycles.

  • Coordinate with engineers, maintenance planners, shipyard personnel, modernization stakeholders, data owners, and government leadership to validate information.

  • Assist with data requests as needed.

  • Support brief development, report preparation, data visualization, and recurring status reporting.

  • Maintain organized records of source data, assumptions, version history, and recurring products.
