Overview:
Phoenix Group is seeking a highly experienced Senior Special Materials Type Desk Analyst to join our team in support of maritime logistics operations. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the U.S. Navy, Military Sealift Command (MSC), and allied maritime operations. In this role, you’ll manage supply chain functions that ensure mission-critical materials and equipment are sourced, delivered, and tracked efficiently—both CONUS and OCONUS.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical and functional expertise in support of worldwide logistics and sustainment for commodities and distance support.
Perform and analyze material identification, requisitioning, order tracking, and shipping operations using DoD MILSTRIP systems and Defense Transportation Systems (DTS).
Conduct financial and inventory management for federal and commercial materials, including material order submission and expediting.
Audit and evaluate acquisition documentation, technical specifications, and vendor data to ensure logistics requirements align with mission goals.
Support the development of inventory strategies, causative research on gains/losses, and advise on procurement needs for standard and non-standard items.
Serve as a logistics SME for afloat and shore-side supply operations, providing leadership and process improvement strategies.
Utilize knowledge of Government Credit Purchase Card (GCPC) protocols to support procurement efforts as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 12 years of demonstrated logistics support experience with MSC, U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, or commercial ship operations.
Deep knowledge of Navy/DoD logistics processes including MILSTRIP requisitions, inventory control, and vendor sourcing.
Strong technical acumen to interpret acquisition documentation, technical manuals, and supply system reports.
Experience in supply auditing, inventory trend analysis, and process recommendations.
Familiarity with federal procurement procedures and government transportation systems.
