Phoenix Group Welcomes New VEDP Intern for Summer 2025

Phoenix Group of Virginia is proud to participate in the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) 2025 Virginia Global Business Internship Program and is thrilled to welcome Janai Byrd to the Phoenix Group Team for the summer of 2025.

Over the next few months, Janai will be working closely with our Growth Division department while we prepare and plan for the fall 2025 Damage Control Conference in the UK.

Janai will also lend her expertise and knowledge in the fields of Marketing and International Business. The Growth Division team is looking forward to working with Janai and introducing her to the world of Defense Contracting.  She will be working out of our headquarters in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Janai, a Chesapeake resident and recent graduate from George Mason University, majored in Marketing and Korean studies with minors in Business Analytics and International Business.

Janai is passionate about global engagement and language learning. She spent two years in South Korea studying Korean and interned at George Mason’s Songdo campus. Her experience includes market research at Virginia SBDC and interests in Korean pop-culture trends. She is also a Boren Scholar and a recipient of the American Councils Korean Language Program award. Janai plans to pursue a master’s in international Affairs and become an Economic Officer in the U.S. Foreign Service.
